If you are traveling out of the country, you need a government issued passport. Passports must not expire within six months of the travel return date. Passports must have at least two blank pages.

For cruises that depart from and return to the same U.S. port, a passport is not required. Instead, you can use a government-issued ID and a birth certificate. However, it is recommended to have a passport available in case of emergencies.

You can travel to the following U.S. territories without a passport, using just a government-issued photo ID:
